Trend Micro TrendProtect for Firefox is a wonderful anti-phishing tool for Mozilla Firefox. The program installs itself as a plug-in that enables you to get a website's reputation or test a web page you are visiting, and also warns you when you visit a page with malicious or inappropriate contents.
The program's rating for web pages is limited to trusted, untrusted, unrated, safe and unsafe. Trend Micro TrendProtect is only compatible with Mozilla Firefox versions perior to 3.x and if you attempt to install it on version 3.0 it will display an incompatibility message and will not function at all. Once the plug-in is installed, it will display an additional toolbar icon in your Mozilla Firefox. It will display a small menu after you click on it, thus allowing you to enable/disable the Trend Micro TrendProtect protection or reconfigure it. The plug-in's configuration allows you to integrate Trend Micro TrendProtect into your MSN, Google and Yahoo results' links, where it will tell you what sites are not worth visiting. |
